Testing Geometry Nodes

Today I've been trying to figure out Blender's Geometry Nodes. My idea was to add a Geometry Node Modifier to a plane to generate a "mountain pattern" I could duplicate and make a parallax effect - similar to late 80s and early 90s games.
I realized quickly I didn't know what I was doing. It feels like the effect could have been achieved a lot quicker with Python and Blender's Python API. For a beginner, Geometry Nodes feels like visual coding (such as Blocky). Perhaps it will get more interesting.
